(Institut für Islamfragen, dh, 07.06.2009) Viele Rechtsgutachten und Publikationen muslimischer Gelehrter und Intellektueller bestätigen die Empfehlung des Gebets während des Hahnenschreis. So bestätigte z. B. das vom qatarischen Religionsministeriums finanzierte Rechtsgutachtergremium:

(English) When Islam is the subject, the topic „Women in Islam“ is also frequently discussed. This is not merely the result of controversial books on Islam (like Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses) or of the problems associated with a “parallel society”, or of the visible external differences between Muslim and non-Muslim women. The reports from human rights organizations on the situation of women in Islamic countries and the autobiographical accounts of Muslim women also fuel the debate about the acculturation of Muslim women in Western culture, under the rubric of “Women’s Rights in Islam“, for example.

(English) Defection from Islam: A Disturbing Human Rights Dilemma

(English) The discussion of human rights flares up when Muslims in an Islamic country convert to Christianity and are threatened with death, as happened a few years ago in Afghanistan and as happens from time to time in other Muslim countries. In the West we immediately regard this as an attack on human rights and a restriction of the freedom of religion, but, in fact, almost all of the Islamic countries signed the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, and they regard their actions as consistent with their understanding of human rights. Obviously we face a huge divergence of opinions on the nature of human rights and what it means to protect them, but what is the source of such fundamentally different ways of thinking?

Fatwa zur Beurteilung der Schenkungsehe

(Institut für Islamfragen, dh, 15.08.2008) Frage: „Wie wird die so genannte ‚Schenkungsehe‘ beurteilt, wenn sie einfache Muslime praktizieren möchten (nicht, wenn es um den Propheten des Islam geht) [Die sog. Schenkungsehe ist eine von der Pflicht der Morgengabe befreite, von der Frau initiierte Ehe, die nach Berichten der Überlieferung der Prophet Muhammad praktiziert hat.]“
